Medicaid: AUDIOLOGISTS FACE NEW RULES FOR MEDICAID

Audiologists would have to meet a new set of requirements to provide services - including school-based care - to Medicaid recipients under a new proposal from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. In a rule published in the April 2 Federal Register, CMS proposed requiring audiologists to either A) be certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association; B) complete at least 350 hours of supervised clinical practice, perform 9 months of supervised full-time audiology services after obtaining a graduate degree, and pass an approved national examination in audiology; or C) meet state licensure requirements that are at least as...
