Physicians: Docs Can Reap New Opportunities For CPO

If you have patients in home health care, billing Medicare for keeping tabs on them is easier than ever. The 2005 physician fee schedule final rule says you can bill for care plan oversight (G0179-G0180) even if a provider other than the one who certified the patient for home health provides the CPO. This rule opens the door for non-physician practitioners such as nurse practitioners and clinical nurse specialists to bill for CPO.
