Drug Administration Edits Revoked

As promised, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services revoked troublesome drug administration edits imposed last April. The deleted edits bundled sequential IV push code G0354 with five other drug administration codes: G0345, G0347, G0357, G0359 and G0361. CMS officials say the revision is retroactive to April 1. Providers say those edits would have made it hard to bill drug administration for each additional drug provided. (See PBI, Vol. 6, no. 18.)CMS also removed longstanding edits bundling nail debridement CPT 11720 - 11721 with new patient visit codes 99201-99202.
