The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services will pay for bariatric procedures for seniors after all. Medicare had said it might not cover gastric restrictive surgeries for anyone over 65, but its final National Coverage Determination said it would pay for the procedures--but only in facilities certified by the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Bariatric Surgery as the best possible settings.
