Ureterectomy Bundled Into Over 100 Codes Without Recourse

A modifier won't help you override edits that make CPT code 50650 (Uretorectomy, with bladder cuff) into a component of these codes:• nephrectomy codes 50225 and 50445-50447 • ureter repair codes 50740-50940 and 50947-50948, and • bladder excision codes 51550-51597. You also can't use a modifier to unbundle cystoplasty/cystourethroplasty code 51800 from prostate excision codes 55801-55845. Nor can a modifier help you to bill for female urethra dilation codes 53660-53665 alongside prostate coagulation codes 52647-52648 (for obvious reasons).But you could override edits that make renal pelvis introduction codes 50390 and 50392-50393 into components of 50391...
