Clarification

In the 4th Quarter 2008 issue of Coding Clinic for HCPCS, Question 8 was published regarding how to appropriately report blood draws from a heplock/ saline lock. Several options were provided in the question portion, however, a definitive response was not provided in the answer. The answer stated that it is inappropriate to report CPT code 36592 for the collection of the blood specimen via the heplock. However, the response does not state how to appropriately report a blood draw from a heplock/saline lock. Can the EAB provide further clarification for this issue? ...
