HCPCS code C9737, Laparoscopy, surgical, esophageal sphincter augmentation with device (e.g., magnetic band), was established by CMS in January of 2014 for the reporting of the laparoscopic implantation of a magnetic esophageal ring procedure utilized in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Effective June 30, 2015, HCPCS code C9737 will be deleted by CMS and replaced with the new Category III CPT code 0392T effective July 1, 2015. Therefore, the LINX Reflux Management System procedure associated with the laparoscopic implantation of a magnetic esophageal ring will be appropriately reported with CPT code 0392T. ...
