HCPCS Level II Codes for Reporting Chaplaincy Services (Q900-Q9003)

HCPCS Level II codes for reporting chaplaincy services (Q9001-Q9003) were introduced on October 1, 2020. As of October 1, 2022, the narrative code descriptions related to chaplaincy services were revised to allow for greater use. Prior to this change, these codes were only available for use by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Systems.These specific HCPCS Level II codes now allow all healthcare organizations the ability to collect, and report standardized data for chaplain spiritual care when documented.
