JW modifier information update
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has provided a listing of frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding modifier JW, Drug amount discarded/not administered to any patient. This modifier would be appended to identify unused drug or biologicals from single use vials or single use packages that are appropriately discarded. The FAQs regarding the JW modifier provided by CMS is as follows:
