Ligament Repair with Fiber Tape and Soft Tissue Bone Anchor

A patient with a torn, right ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) presented for repair with fiber tape and bone anchor system. A medial elbow incision was made, and dissection was carried down through the subcutaneous tissue to the antebrachial cutaneous nerve. The ulnar nerve and the ulnar collateral ligament were identified noting the torn ligament which was amenable to repair. One bone anchor with collagen encoated tape was placed within the medial epicondyle and a second bone anchor was placed within the sublime tubercle. The ligament was repaired onto itself with a 0 high-strength suture and the soft tissue bone anchor system was deployed. The UCL was then imbricated to the brace.
