Update on the facility E/M expert panel

The American Hospital Association (AHA) and the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) have jointly convened an independent expert panel to make a recommendation to CMS on standardizing hospital reporting of evaluation and management (E/M) services in the emergency department and provider-based clinics. The panel is broad and covers all sizes of hospital organizations. Panel membership consists of coding, billing, finance, clinical, audit and compliance experts.
