Z Code Update

New Z codes were created as noted below. Contact/Exposure Code Z20.82, Contact with and (suspected) exposure to other viral communicable diseases, was expanded and a new code created (Z20.821), to identify patients who have been in contact with or suspected to have been exposed to the Zika virus. Observation    Two new observation codes are created to identify an encounter for examination and observation of victim following forced sexual exploitation (Z04.81) or forced labor exploitation (Z04.82).
