A subcommittee of Coding Clinic for ICD-9-CM's Editorial Advisory Board is continuing its task of reexamining coding guidelines for clarity and completeness and drafting additional guidelines as needed. The 5 coding guidelines appearing in this issue have been reviewed by members of the Editorial Advisory Board, and 3 of the 5 have been approved by all cooperating parties (American Medical Record Association, Health Care Financing Administration, National Center for Health Statistics, and American Hospital Association) to the Central Office on ICD-9-CM maintained by the American Hospital Association.
