CPT Coding for ACL Reconstruction with Medial Meniscectomy and Lateral Meniscal Trephination Repair
A patient with tears of the left anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), medial and lateral menisci presented for repair. Through an arthroscopic approach, the lateral meniscus was repaired; the meniscus was trephined and a single all inside meniscal repair device was placed. The medial meniscus had a complex tear; biters and shavers were used to resect the diseased meniscal tissue. Then the ACL remnant was resected with a shaver and ablator. Through an incision, cinch stitches were utilized to sink the allograft into the femoral tunnel, the tibial tunnel was then broached and a sheath and screw were placed. The repair was stable.
