Division of Heart Valve Leaflets During Transcatheter Valve Replacement

A patient was admitted for transeptal valve-in-valve transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR) with a bovine prosthesis due to regurgitation of their prosthetic mitral valve. After obtaining transcatheter access to the prosthetic valve, a tip-to-base laceration of the anterior mitral leaflet to prevent outflow obstruction (LAMPOON) procedure was performed. A flying V shaped electrosurgical wire configuration was placed in the center of the mitral leaflet in the outflow tract. The electrosurgical wire was used to create a tip-to-base LAMPOON with 70 of pure cut - the laceration was clearly visible. After successful LAMPOON, the new bovine mitral valve was fully deployed within the failed mitral valve.  Does the LAMPOON procedure have a separate surgical objective from the TMVR replacement and, therefore, coded separately?
