Pediatric pyloric stenosis, also known as infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, and hypertrophic pyloric stenosis, is a condition that is characterized by abnormal thickening of the pylorus muscle in the stomach leading to gastric outlet obstruction. This condition is the most common cause of gastric outlet obstruction which requires surgical intervention.
