Sutureless Repair of Pulmonary Vein Stenosis
A young child, who is status post heart transplant, was found to have bilateral pulmonary vein stenosis in the proximal pulmonary veins. The patient presents for sutureless repair of the stenosis. It appears that the sutureless repair was performed by creating an anastomosis between the cut edges of the left atrial appendage, around the pericardium, which surrounded the pulmonary venous entrance. The procedure was completed by performing the sutureless repair on the right side of the left atrium along the pericardium surrounding the entrance of the vein into the pericardium.
