Subcategory T40.7, Poisoning by, adverse effect of and underdosing of cannabis (derivatives), has been expanded to differentiate poisoning, adverse effect of and underdosing of cannabis from synthetic cannabinoids. The two new sub-subcategories are:T40.71, Poisoning by, adverse effect of and underdosing of cannabis (derivatives)  T40.72, Poisoning by, adverse effect of and underdosing of synthetic cannabinoids Corresponding codes have been created at each subcategory for poisoning accidental (unintentional), poisoning intentional self-harm, poisoning assault, and poisoning undetermined, as well as for adverse effect and underdosing. Appropriate seventh characters are required for initial encounter, subsequent encounter and sequela. ...
