Assign code 50.11, Closed (percutaneous) [needle] biopsy of liver, for Tru-cut liver biopsy. By definition a Tru-cut biopsy is a needle biopsy. Tru-cut biopsy involves a large needle with a partially hollowed out central core with a trap at the tip in order to keep the specimen in place. ...
