PROCEDURE Biliary Drainage Catheter Placement TECHNIQUE Under fluoroscopic guidance, from a mid-axillary line approach, a 22-gauge needle was directed in an inferior-to-superior direction through the liver. While slowly pulling back the needle, contrast was injected under fluoroscopy until the biliary system was encountered. The biliary system was then opacified.
