CLINICAL EXAMPLE 1 Breast MRI-Guided Wire Localization CLINICAL HISTORY A 51-year-old female recently diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) presents for MRI-guided wire localization. Pre-operative breast MRI on 12/05/2017 demonstrated clumped, segmental non-mass enhancement corresponding to the site of the known DCIS initially diagnosed by mammography at the 1:00 position in the left breast. An additional 0.5 cm suspicious mass in the lower outer quadrant of the left breast at the posterior 5:00 position was identified on breast MRI.
