August 2019 pages 5-6 Breast MRI with Computer-aided Detection For the 2019 Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) code set, four new codes (77046-77049) were added to report breast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and three codes (77058, 77059, 0159T) were deleted to align with the structure of the other breast-imaging code families. The four new MRI codes specify the use of contrast materials and include “computer-aided detection (CAD), when performed” to enable accurate reporting of the specific breast imaging performed.
