October 2012 page 12 Coding Clarification: Computed Tomography of Abdomen and Pelvis (74150-74170, 72192-92194) In the November 2011 issue of the CPT Assistant (page 6), combined computed tomography (CT) abdomen and pelvis codes from CPT 2012 were addressed in the coding brief–article and the Coding Tip. The coding tip instructed that "The stand-alone codes for CT abdomen (74150-74170) and CT pelvis (72192-72194) are still available for use when the services are performed individually or in conjunction with other, non-abdominal or pelvic studies."
