May 2010 pages 5-6 Coding Communication: Myocardial Perfusion Imaging Changes have been introduced to the cardiovascular nuclear medicine subsection for CPT® 2010, particularly to the myocardial perfusion codes. The previous myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) codes did not include the wall motion and ejection fraction procedures in the base procedure code. As a result, codes 78460-78465, 78478, and 78480 have been deleted and replaced with new codes.
