January 2014 pages 6-7 Coding Update: Chemodenervation of Muscles In the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2014 code set, several changes were made in the Destruction by Neurolytic Agent (eg, Chemical, Thermal, Electrical or Radiofrequency), Chemodenervation subsection of the Nervous System section of the CPT codebook. Codes 64613 and 64614 were deleted and two new codes (64616, 64617) were established to allow more specificity and to capture the different levels of work and intensity associated with injecting the (extralaryngeal) neck muscles vs intrinsic laryngeal muscles.
