CLINICAL EXAMPLE 1 CT-Guided Percutaneous Core Needle Lung Biopsy CLINICAL HISTORY A 32-year-old male patient with left upper lobe F-18 fluoro-2-deoxyglucose (F-18 FDG) avid lung mass. PROCEDURE Sterile 1% lidocaine for local anesthesia. Sedation: Moderate sedation level was achieved using intravenous administration of fentanyl and midazolam. The procedure was documented in the medication record. The patient's oxygen saturation, heart rate, electrocardiogram (ECG), and blood pressure were monitored continuously by an independent trained observer throughout the administration of sedation and the duration of the procedure.
