April 2021 pages 10-11 Reporting Lung Biopsy With Imaging Guidance (32408) For the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT®) 2021 code set, changes were made for the reporting of a percutaneous core needle biopsy of the lung or mediastinum. Because lung and mediastinum percutaneous core needle biopsies are typically performed with imaging guidance, code 32405 was deleted and replaced with code 32408, which includes imaging guidance, when performed.
