October 2023 page 16 Erratum: E/M: Consultations Q&A In the “Evaluation and Management (E/M): Consultations,” Questions and Answers section of the February 2023 issue of CPT® Assistant, the listed consultation code range was incorrect, ie, the answer incorrectly stated that “the cardiologist would report the appropriate consultation code (99242-99245).” The correction in this Erratum supersedes previously published information. The correct answer to the original question is as follows: Answer: In this scenario, the cardiologist would report the appropriate consultation code (99252-99255), while the admitting physician would report the appropriate inpatient or observation care code (99221-99223).
