Does this mean that these codes may be reported when the procedures described are performed on toes as well as fingers? AMA Comment From a coding perspective, although codes 26858-26590 are listed in the Hand and Fingers subsection of the Musculoskeletal System section, these codes are intended to describe repair procedures performed on either fingers on toes. This is why the term "digit" is used in the code descriptors, as this term refers to both fingers and toes...
