CLINICAL EXAMPLE 1 Nuclear Medicine Whole-Body Bone Scan With SPECT/CT CLINICAL HISTORY A 46-year-old male with history of sacroiliac (SI) joint pain. History of lumbar spinal fusion. TECHNIQUE Approximately 3 hours following 19.1 millicurie (mCi) of intravenous Tc-99m methylene diphosphonate (MDP) administration, anterior and posterior whole-body planar images were obtained. Single-photon emission computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) images were obtained of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. SPECT images were attenuation-corrected using CT, which was also used for anatomic correlation. COMPARISON None. FINDINGS There is posterior lumbosacral spinal fusion extending from L2-S1 with intervertebral disc spacers at the intervening levels...
