September 2017 pages 6-8 Spinal Injection Update (62320-62327) Important revisions were made to the Spine and Spinal Cord/Injection, Drainage, or Aspiration subsection for 2017. These changes were necessary because data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) had indicated that codes 62310, 62311, 62318, and 62319 were potentially misvalued. For 2017, four codes (62310, 62311, 62318, 62319) were deleted and eight new codes (62320-62327) were added to distinguish spinal injections performed without imaging guidance from injections that include imaging guidance.
