During a complex transcatheter aortic valve replacement/transcatheter aortic valve implantation procedure (TAVR/TAVI), a 72-year-old male with prior transient ischemic attack (TIA), cerebrovascular accident (CVA), and critical aortic valve stenosis also requires dual cerebral embolic protection filters in the brachiocephalic and left common carotid arteries. Both filters were successfully removed following the procedure. When reporting add-on code 33370 for a TAVR/TAVI procedure, would it be appropriate to report add-on code 33370 twice for dual cerebral embolic protection filters in conjunction with a TAVR/TAVI procedure code?
