CPT codes 99471, 99472, 99475, and 99476 include age information in the descriptors, such as "29 days through 24 months of age" and "2 through 5 years of age," respectively. It seems that the ages included for these codes overlap during the 24th month. Based on the current descriptions, both codes 99471 and 99475 could be reported for a patient who is 24 months old. What is the distinction between selecting code 99471 and code 99475 based on the age of the pediatric patient?
