CPT Knowledgebase - Apr 1, 2019

Our physician performed a medial parapatellar arthrotomy, retracting the patella over enough to visualize the central chondral defect of the trochlea. Using continuous irrigation, a microfracture using a power pick device was performed. The holes were spaced 2 to 3 mm apart. At this point, peripheral blood was obtained and spun in a centrifuge, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) was transferred to the back table. One cc of PRP and 1 cc of injectable allograft cartilage paste was mixed. The mixture was then implanted into the cartilage defect. Would it be appropriate to report CPT codes 27415 and 0232T for this procedure?
