Medical Coding and Combating Fatigue

Fatigue impairs healthcare professionals’ capacity to provide quality and appropriate care and increases the probability of medical, coding, and procedural errors. The undermined provision of care and errors, in turn, affect patients’ outcomes adversely and hinder the attainment and maintenance of public health. Besides, errors increase the legal liability of healthcare practitioners and health institutions and threaten hospitals’ financial positions.
