The New Medicare Cards

If you haven't seen them in your office yet, you soon will.  What you may ask?  The new Medicare beneficiary cards.  In an effort to help protect beneficiaries from fraudulent use of their social security numbers, which could lead to identity theft and/or illegal use of Medicare benefits, CMS replaced the old identification numbers (which was the beneficiary's social security number), with new alphanumeric identification numbers.  The new cards started to be mailed out to new beneficiaries in April 2018 and will continue to be mailed out by member's geographical locations through April 2019. ...
