What is it and why should you care? The new "Expiration of Medicare Flexibilities" rule that takes place on October 1, 2016 is defined as more accurate means of representing a patient's clinical status that translates into coded data. That coded data is then translated into quality reporting; a sort of "physician report card" if you will which directly impacts reimbursement, public health data, and disease tracking.
