LCDs & Policies: MACs revisit RFA in facet joint intervention LCD

Take another look at your facet joint interventions for pain management policy. Five Medicare administrative contractors (MAC) revised the local coverage determination (LCD) and companion billing and coding article for the procedures in April and May. The updates clarify existing guidance, but they don’t change coding rules. First Coast Service Options and Novitas have issued a proposed LCD with similar changes, the comment periods for the revisions will end on Aug. 22.
