Check Your States UPPL Laws

The following states have laws modeled on the Uniform Accident and Sickness Policy Provision Law (UPPL), a model law state insurance commissioners drafted in 1947. These laws may allow payers to deny reimbursement for patients injured under the influence of drugs or alcohol. (See "Sobering News: Strategies for Alcohol and Drug Intoxication" in article 6.)
