Besides heralding a new year, Jan. 1 also brings a new batch of edits to the Correct Coding Initiative (CCI). Fortunately, version 8.0 will have little impact on emergency department coders, according to Jim Blakeman, senior vice president for coding quality assurance with Healthcare Business Resources Inc., in Bala Cynwyd, Pa.
