Modifier Update: CMS Speaks: X{EPSU} Offers 'No Benefit' For Now
You may keep using 59 until further notice.
Many surgery practices have been getting busy or getting worried regarding when and how to implement the X{EPSU} modifiers, which CMS created to avoid overuse of modifier 59 (Distinct procedural service).
