CPT 2001 lists three main gastrectomy codes: 43620 (gastrectomy, total; with esophagoenterostomy); 43631 (gastrectomy, partial, distal; with gastroduodenostomy); and, 43638 (gastrectomy, partial, proximal, thoracic or abdominal approach including esophagogastrostomy, with vagotomy).
