A patient with a left retroperitoneal lymph node presents for biopsy and cryoablation. Non-contrast CT images were performed initially. A guiding needle and a biopsy needle were passed into the nodule via CT guidance to obtain the core biopsies. Because the cryoablation was performed with 2 freeze cycles and the images obtained during each cycle, would the NCCI biopsy guidelines apply in this case?
