The Central Office for HCPCS continues to receive questions related to breast revision procedures. One question in particular, pertains to the correct reporting of CPT code 19380, Revision of reconstructed breast. Specifically, when is 19380 correctly reported and when is it appropriate to report other or additional codes? Effective January 1, 2021, CPT has revised several of the code descriptors in the breast section including a significant revision to the code descriptor for code 19380, in addition to revised guidelines.
