New HCPCS Codes for the reporting of immune globulin
Currently, liquid intravenous immune globulin products are reported with HCPCS code J1567, Injection, immune globulin, IV, non-lyophilized (liquid), 500 mg. Effective July 1, 2007, this code will no longer be billable for Medicare. For non-Medicare reporting, it is important that you check with your respective payor for appropriate reporting instructions. Several new HCPCS codes will replace HCPCS code J1567 for the reporting of liquid intravenous immune globulin. The new codes are listed in Table 1.
