The patient with a trial spinal cord stimulator system presents for removal of percutaneous leads with placement of new stimulator paddle leads. A midline incision was made over the T9-T10 level and carried down through the deep fascia. C-arm images were obtained to confirm the proper level. At T9, the inferior spinous process was excised and the lamina was thinned. A laminectomy was completed at the T9-T10 level. The spinal cord stimulator paddle leads were placed over the dorsal aspect of the spinal canal covering T8 and the inferior portion of T7. The leads were secured to the inferior spinous process once bilateral symmetric signals were detected.A midline incision was made over the L1-L2 level and the previous percutaneous trial leads and anchors were removed. Through a separate incision, the existing pulse generator was removed and the trial leads were disconnected. The new paddle leads were connected to the existing pulse generator, which was placed back into the same pocket. Irrigation and layered closure were performed on both surgical wounds. What is/are the correct CPT code(s) for the replacement of the original pulse generator when it is temporarily removed to connect new paddle leads and then placed back into the same pocket? ...
