Accelerated Idioventricular Rhythm (AIVR)

A patient with a recent history of cardiac ablation was admitted due to heart palpitations with concern for recurrent ventricular tachycardia. Multiple tests were performed, including an electrocardiogram, and the provider documented that the patient’s symptoms were due to accelerated idioventricular rhythm (AIVR) without ventricular tachycardia present while symptomatic.When referencing the term “Rhythm” in the Alphabetic Index, there is only one subentry for “idioventricular,” which leads to code I44.2, Atrioventricular block, complete.
