Double-J Ureteral Stent Placement (Drainage)

A patient had a cystoscopy with the placement of a double-J stent due to a left 7 mm ureteral stone. During the procedure, a C sensor wire was advanced through the cystoscope into the left ureteral orifice under direct vision and fluoroscopic guidance. Next, a 6-French x 26 cm double-J ureteral stent was placed over the wire and the wire was then removed. X-rays of the kidney, ureter, and bladder (KUBs) were obtained showing a good curl within the left renal pelvis and bladder. The bladder was then drained, and the cystoscope was removed.
