Drainage of Lower Lobes of Lung

In Coding Clinic, Third Quarter 2017, page 15, the body part value “bilateral lungs” was assigned for a patient who had secretions suctioned from the lower lobes of the lungs. However, we feel that the body part for the procedure should be “lower lung lobe.” Since there is no “bilateral” body part value for the lower lung lobe, should ICD-10-PCS guideline B4.3 be followed and a code assigned for lower lobe, right and lower lobe, left?” ...
