Interbody Spinal Fusion with Stem Cell Aspiration

A patient with Grade 1 spondylolisthesis L4 on L5, degenerative disc disease of L5-S1, severe lumbar nerve root compression, and severe spinal stenosis is admitted for surgery. Posterior decompression of L3, L4, and L5 is performed with foraminotomies and posterolateral fusion of L4-L5 and S1. Stem cell marrow aspiration is also performed for bone grafting. The marrow aspirate is mixed with the morphogenic demineralized bone graft and inserted posterolaterally.
